Hype Decoder covers the space where tech and geopolitics clash.

This weekly newsletter helps tech execs understand policy and policymakers understand tech.

All via a well-sourced, weekly background analysis of a single pressing topic.

That means no hype, no clickbait and no rants. Just the facts, causes and effects analyzed by an independent tech & media veteran.

Within 10 minutes, you know all the angles.

What sort of coverage can I expect from Hype Decoder?

Tech is a dominant force, it's been thoroughly woven into the fabric of our daily lives.

Meanwhile, many policymakers are having difficulty understanding it.

On the other hand, lots of tech execs struggle with policymakers making their life harder.

That's where Hype Decoder comes in

I'll filter the noise, the clickbait and fake content for both audiences. Better yet, I'll go through the whitepapers, endless research and policy docs, unearthing the details that matter.

So when you open this newsletter, you know it's worth your time. Because when it's time to go into the meeting room, you've already read the room.

DON'T expect reviews about the latest drones to hit the market.

DO expect properly sourced analyses about how drones are reshaping warfare.

DON'T expect political commentary about trade wars.

DO expect deep dives into how policymakers use export controls to shape their policies and impact the tech industry.

DON'T expect the umpteenth clickbaity, LLM-generated article about how everyone is losing their jobs.

DO expect investigating why LLMs can't seem to turn a profit for their makers. Especially given billions of euros have been sunk into it for years now.
